I have been full of questions that have gone unanswered. My search did not find any peace until I was drawn to Jane Simington's book Journey to the Sacred: Mending a Fractured Soul. Her knowledge of soul and healing has truly set me on the right path. Other authors would barely touch the surface, but Jane is a tremendous source of knowledge. She sought out so many teaches from different areas of spirituality and biblical sources and combined all of this into one book with clear direction and insight. I am so thankful, and am telling all that I know who is also in search of healing their soul. For the first time in this life I feel I am on the way to a healing of my soul.Product details

Grief and trauma are the fields of my interest, and particularly the spiritual aspects of both difficult subjects. I came across Dr. Simington's book "Journey to the Sacred" while attending her Trauma Processing Certificate Program, and was captivated by it from the first page. Dr. Simington tackles the difficult issue of going through the deep dark valley of grief with a compassionate and honest voice describing her own experience of loosing a child in a sudden and tragic accident. Her language is direct, honest and straight forward, her ideas are courageous, and insightful. Her passion for the topic of grief and compassion for people who are grieving, drew me into her narration and kept me reading to the last page. This book is of great value for anybody at anytime, because as Dr. Simington points out in her first sentence of her introduction "at some point in life, each of us struggles in our attempt to make sense of the circumstances surrounding a difficult life experience." It inspires hope and confidence that grief is a painful but nevertheless spiritual experience that can enrich and transform our lives.
I first read this book in 2003, and was changed drastically by it. I had been searching for many years for words, for language to voice what I had expereinced. To guide myself out of a darkness that no matter what I reached for could only ease the struggle every now and then.
Jane Simingtons writing and teaching is a spiritual antiseptic greater than any I had ever come accross. Having a Christian backgroud I was struggling with the gaps in the teachings I had studied, practiced and lived by. They were not enough to assist me in developing a deeper connection to Divine.
Like many who have been injured in life I turned to Christianity at an early age looking for something more, yet no matter how much I studied, I was held prisioner by a sadness that could not be lifted. The very core of my being was completly saturated in this sadness.
This book "Journey to the Sacred", revealed to me I was not alone, there was someone out there who understood what I was looking for, knew all the aspects of it and was brave enough to to share this with the world.
It is throught the teachings of Jane Simington that this sadness has lifted. This book was the start of those teachings and a pleasure, each time I read it new information jumps out at me that I was not able to grasp the previous time. I have added to my list of must reads for everyone on a quest to become more authentic, and more connected to who you really are.
If you have experienced any form of fear, trauma or pain, this is a stepping stone to coming back from despair and moving into living to the fullest.
